SUPPORT ACCESS

VOLUNTEER

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with ACCESS!

Volunteers are an integral part of ACCESS Shelter. There is a broad range of volunteer opportunities that help to further the mission of ACCESS to empower women and children experiencing homelessness. We welcome individuals, groups, students, families, and businesses to volunteer with us. Opportunities range from one-time, weekly, or monthly depending on your desire and availability.

ACCESS uses a volunteer hub that will allow you to easily sign up for volunteer opportunities according to your schedule and interests!

Please note the following:

  • Students and parents need to sign up for separate volunteer accounts, in order to effectively apply for shifts.

  • Some volunteer opportunities have safety protocols so please check the requirements for your position.

  • If you are a group interested in volunteering, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Melanie Mitchell at mmitchell@access-shelter.org.

Featured Volunteer Opportunities

  • Meal Servers

ACCESS offers three meals a day, seven days a week to the women and children in our shelter. Preparing and serving each meal takes a lot of staff power! Meal servers help to alleviate the strain on our shelter staff during meal times. Sign up today to serve a pre-prepared meal.

  • ACCESSories Boutique Associate

Volunteers are the heart of ACCESSories Boutique. Responsibilities of this volunteer assignment will include, but not limited to, answering resident’s questions while they shop, replenishing, organizing and inventorying the store’s merchandise, cleaning and restocking.

  • Donation Sorter

Donation sorting is an ongoing biweekly commitment that provides support to the Donation & Volunteer Coordinator by sorting, cataloging, and storing item donations. This role requires standing, carrying items up and down the stairs, and doing light lifting and bending.
